This 5,100-square-foot renovation and addition reimagines an existing mid-century home in suburban New Jersey for the next generation of the family. The project was undertaken by the son of the original homeowners, who is transforming the house into a home for his newlywed family and the place where they will raise their own children.

The design builds on the character of the original mid-century architecture while introducing a series of open-plan living spaces that connect the kitchen, dining, and living areas. Thoughtfully integrated additions expand the home to support contemporary family life, creating a warm and light-filled residence that honors its origins while looking toward the future.
