Located on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan, prior renovations of this three story brownstone had destroyed any and all of the original character of this townhouse. The clients were looking to create a true family home with period details consistent of the buildings original character.
The entire building was gut renovated and floors were reconstructed to alleviate depressions and severe slopes. gne chose finishes and fixtures, replaced all mechanical systems, designed a new staircase and recreated original details.
A soundproof family room, overlooking the rear yard was constructed on the Garden Level. The Second Floor contains an open Living and Dining Room while three bedrooms occupy the Third Floor. Custom millwork was designed to provide continuity between the three levels and provide much needed storage.
